I wish to register for Boot Camp (April 23)
I wish to register for the Main Programme (April 23-25)
Note: We encourage both the Dli contact and backup to attend these sessions. However, sending additional staff members is possible. Member libraries can get high quality training for the low cost of accommodations and meals for their staff through these sessions but we need to have notice to ensure that all participants will have workstations available for the exercises.
I am staying at the Blomidon
I have made alternate arrangements
Note: Staying at the Blomidon is highly recommended. But you must make reservations on your own. Please do this as soon as possible while rooms are still available. Contact the Blomidon at 1-800-565-2291. Winter rates (available to the end of April) can be found at http://www.blomidon.ns.ca/roomInfo.html
From the Blomidon Inn website: Each room is "individually and uniquely furnished and decorated. Each has a bathroom ensuite, a telephone, air conditioner and complimentary high speed internet connection. Afternoon tea (3:00 - 4:30 p.m.) and a cold continental buffet breakfast (7:30 -10:00 am) are offered complimentary to overnight guests."
Dli contacts who are attending their first training session are eligible for an accommodation subsidy. We would particularly encourage first-timers to plan their stay so that they can attend the dinner at the Blomidon on Thursday evening.
Note: Dinner at the Blomidon is a wonderful tradition. Great food, wonderful networking and lots of fun. You cover your tab, but the Blomidon provides wonderful selections at a reasonable cost.
Nutrition breaks throughout the day are included in your (free) registration, but evening meals are at your own expense.
What will your institution have to pay?
Our Dli training support will cover economy airfare to Halifax for one person from each Dli member institution. For those within driving distance, the ground transportation costs will be covered. Forms will be provided for reimbursement of these travel costs at the workshop. Please note that receipts must be kept and sent in with your travel claim
Travel Expense Guidelines:
The program is funded under the Dli Unit in Statistics Canada and financial guidelines used by Statistics Canada must be followed.
That means, for example, that the federal rate is the basis of payment.
When necessary, a Dli contact can rent a car to get to a Dli training workshop. In this case, Statistics Canada covers the car rental expenses but NOT the mileage. The car must be an economy-sized car unless a number of people are traveling in one car.
Economy/excursion airfare will be reimbursed.
Note: This information is appreciated, but could be provided later.
