Saleem Alwani and David Paton will be talking about CIHI and the possibility of providing a Public Use file from the Discharge Abstract Database (DAD) the DLI member institutions.

Sources of Business Data

Peter Webster will do a brief review of corporate business data sources, including  stock price,  balance sheet,  ratio and other  business information reporting.  We will discuss well known  sources from companies like Standard and Poors,  and  Mergent  as well as publically available sources.  We will look at ways corporate statistics and data  intersect  with Stats Can information.   These will include postal code,  city and  province  level geography,  as well as industrial sectors  via NAICs and SIC code.

Master the Wonders of Excel
Are you ready to expertly manipulate Excel in order to answer DLI questions? During this hands-on workshop presented by Julie Marcoux, you'll be introduced to very basic programming concepts for use in Excel's macros, you'll learn to manipulate data by concatenating strings, you'll explore some very useful Excel functions, and you will leave the workshop ready to make Excel obey your every wishes!
